Gambler Pack Launch edition sold out

We have spent a long time working on the new direction of Adaki, around 18 months at this point. After all of the work, repositioning the brand, developing the first new website and really drilling down to who we are at our core. We needed to start expressing what all of that has manifested into. Enter, the Gambler pack.

While we are in the final stages getting our clothing production ready, we wanted to release something that was affordable so people could start repping the brand. I come from the world of skateboarding, there’s nothing quite like customising your board, phone, car or anything you own with stickers. So it was only natural for that to be our first product.

The phone is face down, showing Gambler pack stickers of a dice and a graffiti tag of Adaki stuck to the phone case. So what’s up with the editions?

We come from the world of digital collectibles, and we want to bring that through into our physical products. The Launch Edition is a hand made early version of the main product. At Adaki, we want to make sure that we are making products that people want. The most honest way to find that out is by putting it out into the market and seeing if people are interested.

We care a lot about the experience, so we will always add extra perks into these launch edition products to say thank you for the early backing. In the case of the Gambler pack, we included 2 extra die cut stickers, a collectible photo sticker and a hand signed thank you letter. On top of this, every customer that bought a launch edition gets a free standard edition, sent with no extra cost.

Every launch edition product will come with a different set of extras, so watch out for the next one to see whats included.

Sold out in 48 hours of public release

Considering this was our first release of a physical product after a long time being quiet, the launch went incredibly well. We managed to sell all launch edition packs within the first 48 hours of the public release. It was incredible to see the support and interesting to see how global our audience truly is. There was only 1 country with more than 1 customer in, every other customer was from a different region of the planet.

As much as this was a success, what came next was shocking. Check out our shipping surprises in What they don’t tell you about shipping.

What’s next?

At the time of writing, we are in the process of getting half our standard pack stock into Germany. I’m sure I will write something about the trials and tribulations of this process as well. Let’s just say for the time being, don’t try and reuse a shredder box and say it’s a gift… and don’t trust the people in the post office.

In the mean time, we are about to go into the development phase our next product. Our first clothing release. This is going to be a collaboration with you, our Syndicate. More details to come soon, so make sure you have signed up for updates in our mailing list.

The standard pack is coming very soon. Show up for the Syndicate and represent. Stickers are meant to be stuck and seen, so go stick them up where people will see. Sign up for updates to be the first to get access to the standard pack.

The launch was successful, but we learned some valuable lessons. Don’t make these mistakes!
